Time is a funny thing. Through everything, it passes. Through the storms, through the calms; through the days, through the nights. Sometimes it seems a good thing, sometimes it seems totally unfair.
One thing that I have notice about myself, is that in one way or another, I am afraid of time. I am afraid of waiting, or afraid of losing something due to time's passing. I worry about the future, and yearn for the past, totally forgetting to enjoy the day that I have been given.
There is a proverb that says to not worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow has enough worries of it's own. How true! Besides, what's the use in wondering and worrying about tomorrow, when we don't even know if we are even going to *have* a tomorrow?
We Americans have such a business-like mentality of planning four years in advance, just so we can make sure that such-and-such a thing happens. How stupid can we really be? I mean, think about it. We plan on time that we don't know we have, and in the process, forget to enjoy the time that we DO have.
When was the last time you didn't do something that would make your day, just because you don't think you have enough time to "waste" on trivial enjoyment? Let's break the cultural and generational norm, and take time to ENJOY time. This moment, this day - the one that we have been given, RIGHT NOW. I think, if more people did that, our lives and our country would be a much different place.
